PYP - Piranhas YMCA of the Suncoast

PYP was established...

The Palm Harbor Branch of YMCA of the Suncoast opened October 2004.

The PYP Piranhas Swim Team was born and we jumped in the water with a roster of 27 swimmers - 19 families who believed the Piranhas were here to stay!  In 2007, we merged our YMCA branch swim programs to become a PYP Piranha Family!  Our 6th PYP Branch-Ridgecrest began swimming September 1, 2008 and they are having a blast!

Our 2009 swimming roster has exceeded 350 swimmers and our programs continues to grow.

During the past 5 years, the Piranhas Swim Team is proud to have grown to serve the needs of the children in Pinellas, Pasco, and Hernando Counties.  We love to show our Piranha Pride being the YMCA of the Suncoast Swim Team! 

PYP Philosophy...

The Piranhas YMCA of the Suncoast is a year-round competitive swim team where a positive and supportive environment is maintained to help improve stroke, skills and establish goals for each individual swimmer.  We will guide, teach, and develop young people on how to reach the best of their ability through hard work and dedication, while allowing them to learn and grow in the process.  We will build good people and good swimmers through constant attention to teaching and training.

We help you become the swimmer you have the potential to be!

At the annual Florida Swimming Coaches meeting held October 12, 2008, all Area 3 coaches agreed to publish to their teams, the United States Swimming Rules on Recruiting.

Please read USA Swimming Code of Conduct, as it is good information for us all to be aware of.  Information regarding recruiting is found in Article 304.3.13.
