FALL PRACTICE SCHEDULE

Bronze - Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 5 - 6 pm

 

Silver - Monday through Thursday from 5 - 6 pm

 

Gold - Monday through Thursday from 6 - 7 pm and Friday from 5 - 6 pm

 

Platinum - Monday through Thursday from 5:30 - 7:30 pm (dryland from 5:30 - 6:00) and Friday from 5 - 6:30 pm

 

Diamond - Monday through Friday from 2:15 - 5:00 pm and Saturday 7:30 - 9:30 am

- Morning Practices 5:30 - 6:30 am Monday and Friday as well as Wednesday's that have HS Dual Meets in the evening (see Coach's Corner for dates)

- No morning practices week of 9/18

GROUP REQUIREMENTS

Bronze

1. Should be at least 5 years of age

2. Must be able to competently swim a 25 on their front with face in the water and a 25 on their back without stopping/grabbing the lane line

3. Must have the social maturity to learn in a group environment

Gold

1. Maintain legal stroke for 100 back, 100 breast,100 free, and 50 fly (including start and turns)

2. Mastery of racing turns in all 4 strokes including transitions in an IM

3. Completion of at least 300 yards of freestyle without stopping including flip turns

4. Completion of a test aerobic set including 12 x 50 on 1:15 of freestyle

5.Completion of a 200 IM legally including start and turns

6. Should be able to complete approximate 1500 yards of training in an hour workout

Diamond

1. Should be at least 13 years of age

2. Completion of a test aerobic set including 12 x 100 free on 1:45 or 20 x 50 on 50

3. Completion of a set of 5 x 200 IM on 4:00

4. Completion of at least 1000 yards of freestyle without stopping in under 15 min

5. Should be able to complete a two-hour workout containing approximately 5000 yards of training

Silver

1. Basic Knowledge of freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly drills

2. Demonstrates side breathing

3. Able to streamline off the wall

4. Working on racing and relay starts from the starting blocks

5. Working on good behavioral and listening skills

6. Demonstration of adequate strength and endurance to complete

some 50 repeats and the occasional 100

7. Able to properly use the kickboard

8. Performs freestyle and backstroke well but may need correction for a legal breaststroke and butterfly

9. Endurance up to 200 yds. without rest (Able to complete 50's and 100's)

10. Age and appropriate social maturity

11. Demonstrates knowledge of flip-turns, racing/relay starts from the blocks, proper (legal) technique, and finishes for each stroke

12. Basic understanding how the time clock is used in sets for starting and resting intervals

Platinum

1. Should be at least 9 years of age

2. Completion of a test areobic set including 10 x 100 free on 2:00 or 20 x 50 on 1:00

3. Completion of a test set including 4 x 200 IM on 5:00

4. Completion of at least 500 yards of freestyle without stopping including flip turns in less than 8 min

5. Be able to perform a set on an interval (read the clock, leave on the correct interval with little reminder)

6. Should be able to complete an hour and a half workout which includes approximately 3000 yards of training
